An Index CNC multi-spindle automatic and two turning centres - forming a GBP 1m contract - are being installed by Geo Kingsbury Machine Tools at the Dundee factory of Yorkshire Fittings.

An Index CNC multi-spindle automatic and two turning centres from the same manufacturer are being installed during June 2004 at the Dundee factory of Yorkshire Fittings, a leading manufacturer and exporter of copper and copper alloy fittings to the plumbing, heating and mechanical services industries Supplied at a cost of GBP 1 million through Geo Kingsbury Machine Tools, Gosport, the three high-specification, German-built machines form part of a new 'centre of excellence' for the manufacture of all Yorkshire Fittings' turned parts

Commented Martin Dowling, Manufacturing and Technical Director, "We face massive competition in our industry, especially from the Far East, so we are looking to lower production costs by replacing some of our older bar turning machines with modern, efficient plant.".
