Pick-up vertical turning centre has two
spindles
Double pick-up spindle vertical turning machine is designed for high-volume production of identical workpieces of medium geometrical complexity.
For the V160C, the top priority has so far always been to provide a large working area with a minimum of floor space At the EMO 2005, Index proved for the first time that an even higher degree of profitability and productivity is possible with the V160 with double spindle

Pick-up spindle lathe has hexapod features
A new, hanging-spindle, vertical turning lathe (VTL) has been introduced by Index on which the spindle head is able to move freely in three dimensional space.
This is a machine designed for high-volume production of identical workpieces of medium geometrical complexity.
It can be used very efficiently e g, for complementing the back end machining of workpieces processed by multi-spindle machines.
The machine base of the V160 with double spindle is set up according to the modular VerticalLine system.
With its mobile work spindle in X-axis direction driven by a linear motor, the V160 with double spindle is constructed in the same way as the V160C.
The new idea was now to mount two slides onto the machine base.
Thus only one secondary part is required.
If the second slide is supplemented by a primary part, it is no longer necessary to have two independent axis drives.
Corrections can be carried out via the linear motor.
As a standard, the V160 with double spindle is equipped with two stationary turrets and tool drives at all stations with 6000 rev/min.
In addition, the 'balcony' in the loading/unloading area has been enlarged so that a double-line conveyor belt could be mounted.
Thus, up to 15 pallets with workpiece diameters of 150mm max.
can be loaded per spindle without any problems.
Advantages offered by the V160 for reducing the costs, as follows.
* Consistent continuation of the V160C series.
* High-volume production of identical workpieces of medium geometrical complexity.
* Simple investment for obtaining double productivity.
* Can be used as additional machine for rear-side machining of multi-spindle parts.
* Extended loading capacity due to larger balcony area.
* Easy linking of single machines.
