CNC machine tool open house gains GBP1.6m orders
During the recent open house event to celebrate its 50th anniversary, UK machine tools supplier and manufacturer, Geo Kingsbury, took orders for high value machine tools worth GBP 1.6 million.
Geo Kingsbury took orders valued at GBP 1.6 million at its open house on 15th and 16th May 2007.
The event was held to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary and was well attended by 350 people from OEMs and subcontractors across the UK and Eire, with over three quarters attending a gala dinner on the first evening.
All machines on show were built in the Baden Wurttemberg area of Southern Germany by Geo Kingsbury's principals - Index, Traub, Hermle, SHW and Durr Ecoclean.
The latter company's component washing machines were exhibited for the first time in the UK since Geo Kingsbury took over the agency at the beginning of 2006.
Among the machine tools sold were a highly productive multi-spindle CNC auto from the Index MS range and a Hermle C 50 5-axis machining centre.
Yhe latter machine was a new model launched at the show and can machine workpieces up to 2 tonnes.
Commented managing director, Richard Kingsbury, "We were delighted with the response from our existing customer base and were very pleased to welcome many new companies.
Our principals supported us well too by sending senior representatives to attend." He said: "The feedback that we have received from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive, not only regarding the products but also the overall show format.
The dinner at Southampton Football Club and the ability to network amongst some 300 like-minded engineers proved a really successful combination.".
