Hermle VMCs can have automatic tailstock
For carrying out 'one hit', 4-/5-axis machining of long workpieces, Hermle has introduced an optional automatic tailstock for its C 30 U and C 40 U vertical machining centres.
Twin-opposed-spindle mill-turn lathe introduced
A twin-opposed-spindle CNC mill-turn lathe can be equipped with two, three or four disc-type, Y-axis turrets, each capable of holding 10 driven or static tools on both faces.
The Minio 75P uses Dowclene 1601, a non-corrosive, polar solvent that efficiently degreases machined components and removes water-based soil and oil-water emulsions as well as swarf and other particulate matter, without leaving a residue.
In the past, manufacturers have typically used trichloroethylene or perchloroethylene to clean machined components, but now the efficient Dowclene alternative can be used in compliant machines under the Solvent Emissions Directive.
The Minio 75P removes contaminants between and after manufacturing processes, and is ideal for small volume production environments as well as larger companies with decentralised cleaning areas.
Vacuum distillation and double solvent filtration allows the cleaning medium to be recycled for cost-effective operation.
Energy consumption is minimised by heat recovery, and the process is said to be almost emission-free.
Loading and unloading of components into the work chamber at the front is carried out manually.
The enclosed chamber has rotational and swivelling actions for cleaning and drying components efficiently, while the addition of ultrasonics is optional.
Eight different process sequences are programmed using the Siemens S7 PLC.
The control panel displays tank temperature and pressure as well as fault diagnostics.
Program variants include full immersion, vapour degreasing and vacuum drying.
Depending on treatment time, up to nine batches of components per hour can be cleaned.
The Durr Minio 75P joins the long established, non-halogenated, hydrocarbon-based washing machine, the Minio 85C, which is identically specified apart from the type of solvent used.
Durr industrial washing machines are sold in the UK through sole agent, Geo Kingsbury Machine Tools in Gosport, Hampshire.
