Kepware Technologies has announced that its partnership with Online Development (OLDI) is resulting in the demonstration of the CATM Kepware Universal Gateway at the Rockwell Automation Fair.
The CATM Kepware Universal Gateway is available as a plug-in module to a Controllogix PAC, and as a Din rail-mounted module for standalone operation.
In the PAC configuration, the module offers a Logix Backplane Communications Interface and is fully auto configuring for available Logix Tags.
In either configuration, the module delivers over 130 protocols for connectivity to various devices on the plant floor.
The module also delivers U-con, a User Configurable Driver, enabling connectivity to a wide range of Ethernet or serial devices such as analysers, bar code readers, weigh scales, RFID systems, serial printers and label machines.
Target applications include machine-to-machine (M2M) communications to improve equipment interoperability and overall plant floor performance.
