Kodak announced a reseller agreement with Secap, a Philadelphia-based supplier of state-of-the-art mail stream management solutions.

Kodak announced a reseller agreement with Secap, a Philadelphia-based supplier of state-of-the-art mail stream management solutions.

Under terms of the agreement, Secap will resell the Kodak Versamark DS4350 UV Printing System through selected factory trained dealers to end user customers.

"With the growing demand for direct mail and fulfillment pieces printed on coated stocks, many of our print provider customers have been unable to use these substrates due to technology limitations," said Terry Moseley, President, Secap.

"The Kodak Versamark DS4350 UV is a reliable UV curable inkjet printing system that will provide our customers with the solution they need to print on substrates, such as plastic and paperboard folding cartons, from a brand name they can trust." The DS4350 UV printing system is a rugged, easy-to-use, high-volume inkjet printing system bundled with a UV curing ink station for reliable, high-resolution printing on a variety of substrates, including glossy stocks, aqueous and UV coated papers, plastic cards and films.

The DS4350 provides a wide 2.58 inches (6.55cm) of print coverage in a single printhead, with print speeds of up to 330 feet per minute (100 meters per minute), and crisp character definition with print resolutions of up to 300 x 600 dpi.

The DS4350 is available as a fully integrated system that includes a printer, controller, transport and UV curing station and also as a turnkey system including feeder, feeder base and output conveyor - each providing a rich feature set required for maximum productivity and efficiency.

"This is the first reseller agreement we have entered into in North America to sell Kodak Versamark printing solutions".

"The relationship with Secap will enable us to broaden our market reach by offering our inkjet solutions to print providers in commercial printing, as well as the mailing and fulfillment markets," said Ron Gilboa, Vice President of Marketing, Kodak Versamark.

"This agreement enables Secap to offer its customers a productive solution that increase their ability to produce more high value personalised variable data imprinting applications and to offer unique capabilities that supports their business growth." Secap distributes through a national network of specialized and authorized dealers that are independent and company owned.

These dealers have a range of solutions they recommend to their customers, with the Kodak Versamark DS4350 UV printing system as their recommended solution for "high end/high volume" enabling printing on multiple substrates such as plastic, paperboard folding cartons, and coated papers, we anticipate that this relationship will become an all around success for our customers, as well as Secap, and Kodak.

The Kodak Versamark DS4350 printing system will be available from Secap beginning in January 2006.
