Mass flowmeters just the job for salad
dressings
One of the world's largest food manufacturers is relying on the accuracy and repeatability of Krohne's Optimass mass flowmeters for the precise batching of high viscosity salad dressings into pouches.
One of the world's largest food manufacturers is relying on the accuracy and repeatability of Krohne's Optimass mass flowmeters for the precise batching of high viscosity salad dressings into pouches The Swiss food giant, which already has a well established working relationship with Krohne, has adopted the Optimass Series 7000 straight tube Coriolis meters as part of its automated production line for filling 10 litre bags with gourmet salad dressing destined for restaurants

Mass flowmeter measures up in difficult areas
A revolutionary new design of single straight tube Coriolis mass flowmeter ensures problem free installation and maximum accuracy in notoriously difficult applications.
The plant is designed as a double filling station, enabling two flowmeters to batch two different products into the same pouch, either simultaneous or sequentially, depending on the type of dressing.
Each pouch can be filled within 7 seconds.
The manufacturer needed a meter that would cope with the high viscosity of the salad dressing and produce top-class results at low flow rates.

Radical flowmeter designed for low flow use
A radical new design of single Z tube Coriolis mass flowmeter, ideal for blending, dosing and batching, is designed for low flow applications.
Flameproof flowmeter offers ultimate protection
A competitively priced, explosion-protected signal converter in a flameproof housing opens up a wide range of flow measurement possibilities.
The Optimass Series 7000 meters were ideally suited to the application due to their ability to handle high viscosity fluids and particulate matter, as well as maintaining excellent accuracy in the presence of entrained air.
Within the production line, each Series 7000 is simply attached to the framework by means of clamps fastened around the meter body, something that would have been impossible with most previous designs of Coriolis mass flowmeters.
Such an installation would have had a detrimental affect on the performance of the meter.
This ease of installation with the Optimass Series 7000 range is due to Krohne's patented 'Adaptive Sensor Technology' (AST) which intelligently 'tunes' each meter, independent of external forces and fluid density, to produce an inherently balanced instrument that remains stable in the most demanding processes.
Another key advantage of the 7000 series is its suitability for hygiene-critical applications.
The meter incorporates an ingenious 'single seal' aseptic process connection system in accordance with DIN 11864-2, which satisfies even the most stringent hygiene demands.
This design complies with the ASME Bio processing equipment directive, is EHEDG certified and 3A approved, and is constructed from FDA approved materials.
All-welded "Tri-clamp" connections are also available where the connection piece is orbitally welded directly to the measuring tube.
These connections have no internal seal.
The Optimass 7000 series is the first of its kind with wetted parts available in titanium, stainless steel and Hastelloy, producing outstanding corrosion resistance.
The OPTIMASS Coriolis mass flowmeter family caters for flow rates from 0.3kg/h up to 560,000kg/h (0.66 - 20,500lbs/min) and offers a complete range of process connections.
