Ordering level and flow instruments has been much simplified by a manufacturer that has set up a Web-based, expert system that also helps eliminate possible errors in configuration.
Krohne has launched an innovative new service for its customers.
Configure It is a web-based, expert system which provides a simple solution to the complex task of selecting, configuring and ordering level and flow instruments.
Configure It has been developed by Krohne to make specifying and ordering level and flow instrumentation less time consuming for engineers and to help eliminate possible errors in configuration.
Visitors to the free-to-use website, www.ConfigureIt.de, can simply input the criteria of their requirements and the system will identify and provide a specification for the best level or flow instrument for that application.
The intelligent e-Commerce system initially provides users with three access levels, which engineers can select to use depending on their level of knowledge of measurement technology and the application information they have available.
The Needs Analysis section provides a step-by-step guide to identify the best technology for an application; The Measuring Principles section has been designed to help users that have an understanding of measuring principles but who are unsure of which instrument size and configuration to use; The Products section is for users that know exactly what instrument they need.
Once Configure It has presented the best solution, visitors can either send their configuration to Krohne to request a quote or simply continue and register on the website where they can obtain instant price and delivery information for that instrument.
After registration, users can generate quotations with customer specific price and delivery information, which can either be saved or printed or turned into orders on-line.
It will soon be possible to order spare parts for instruments through the system.
In addition registered users are provided with access to data sheets and instruction manuals for Krohne's range of level and flow instruments.
Configure It was developed in response to customer requests to find a solution to the complicated process of specifying level and flow instrumentation.
The system has multi-language capability and as well as English can display information in French, German, Dutch and Spanish.
