Mass flowmeter measures up in difficult areas
A revolutionary new design of single straight tube Coriolis mass flowmeter ensures problem free installation and maximum accuracy in notoriously difficult applications.
The company's calibration facility at its Wellingborough-based plant has been awarded UKAS certification to ISO 17025.
UKAS is the sole accreditation body in the UK recognised by government to assess, against internationally recognised standards, organisations that provide certification, testing inspection and calibration services.
Krohn has five calibration rigs which are now the only dedicated rigs in the UK accredited by UKAS to calibrate Coriolis mass flowmeters.
They have been approved for testing mass and volume flow to 0.035 per cent and 0.038 per cent uncertainty respectively at flow rates from 1,125 kg per hour to 247,100 kg per hour.
The accreditation enables the company to carry out custody transfer calibration and seal instruments according to the requirements of OIML R117 without the need for customers to undertake additional on-site calibration.
This can save substantial time and money.
"Attaining UKAS approval is of great benefit to us," said Eddie Bridges, international product group manager for mass flow at Krohn.
"We can now demonstrate formally that we meet strict internationally recognised calibration criteria, which we will apply to all products we supply.".
