Krohne's BW 25 level gauge has been re-launched and is now suitable for use across a broader range of applications - including those in hazardous environments.

Typically used in petrochemical, oil, gas and offshore applications, the BW 25 can now be used at pressures in excess of 400 bar and temperatures above 400C.

The instrument is also now available with either a digital or analogue display.

As part of the product's redevelopment, Krohne has re-designed the support system for the gauge's float, which works in accordance with the Archimedes principle and improves accuracy of measurement and response.

The BW 25 is designed to be straight-forward to install and can be carried out without interrupting factory processes.

Once fitted the instrument does not need to be recalibrated.

The housing of the BW 25 is manufactured from die-cast aluminium (with the option of stainless steel) and is rated to IP 65.

The instrument's displacement rod, which is available in lengths from 0.3 - 6 meters, is constructed from stainless steel with a titanium option also available.

Up to two limit switches can be built into the indicators.

These can be either two-wire, to conform to DIN 19234, or three-wire.

ESK II can also be installed to give intrinsically safe electrical signal output suitable for use in hazardous areas.
