Small bores produced at high cutting speeds
Twist drills that produce small bores at high cutting speeds and feed rates are now available in an extended diameter range of 8 to 16mm.
KUB Duplon drills from the Komet Group are twist drills for small bores, designed for high cutting speeds and feed rates.
This tool range, introduced for the first time at last year's AMB exhibition, were presented at EMO 2003 in an extended diameter range of 8 to 16mm.
In addition the drills previously successfully used with 3D will also be available for length to diameter ratios of 5D.
A particular features of the KUB Duplon drill is the shape of its body, with a solid carbide head which is securely joined to the tool body by a special connection process.
The radial land on the head is produced after the connection has been made and this produces the high precision required for maximum bore quality.
In addition the secure combination of body andcartridge allows exceptionally high performance results in the context of cutting speed and feed rate.
As KUB Duplon drills have already achieved their economic advantage as soon they reach the estimated tool life, this eliminates all the costs of regrinding.
For production this also ensures constantly monitored production conditions with the quality of the cutting edges guaranteed.
