Tool weight and overhang are factors which affect the concentricity of a tool and its efficiency and the quality it can achieve, which is why these adaptors are lightweight to improve accuracy.
Tool weight and overhang are factors which affect the concentricity of a tool and its efficiency and the quality it can achieve.
This is particularly evident when using extensions and adaptors.
To reduce the weight of these, Komet has developed lightweight versions and in doing so has produced components which are up to 50% lighter.
The new lightweight adaptors and extensions were presented at EMO 2003.
These are available immediately with ABS toolholders and with ABS and HSK spindle connection for length to diameter ratios from 2D to 4D.
