Wire rope hoist lifts company's crane sales
The new CXT range of cranes launched a year ago by Konecranes (UK), the East Kilbride Crane Manufacturer has proved to be a resounding success.
Speaking of the relative upturn, Managing Director Gordon Adie said, "These are very pleasing results and reassuring in light of our decision to undertake a fairly major investment programme this year.
The sales increases are as a result of several factors in our marketplace.
Defence related spending is coming through, aerospace, a sector that we are fairly aggressive in, is active and there has been a pickup in the power industry and also some parts of the automotive sector.
"Margins are of course very tight and the tendering process to win contracts is hugely competitive, but by keeping ourselves to the forefront in crane technology and design, we are winning through.
Our revolutionary CXT range has played a major role in the success of our standard crane range sales and now that we have increased the range to up to 50 tonnes, we see no reason why the CXT shouldn't continue to attract a lion's share of the market.".
