Radio operated cranes feature inverter
control
Two cranes for the 100% Shotton extended recycling plant project at Deeside, North Wales are equipped with inverter control on all motions and will be operated through radio control.
East Kilbride crane manufacturer Konecranes UK is busy installing and commissioning two cranes for the 100% Shotton extended recycling plant project at Deeside, North Wales The development will enable UPM-KYMMENE, Shotton Paper Mill to take an additional 320,000 tonnes of recovered newspapers and magazines every year

Nissan modernises its cranes
Realising that modernising an old crane is a good alternative to the capital outlay involved in a new one, Nissan called in East Kilbride Crane experts, Konecranes UK.
Konecranes UK is supplying 2 cranes for this contract worth over GBP 400,000.
The first, a 30 tonne with 2 x 15 tonne CXTD trolleys on a 38 metre span bridge, was installed in January this year The second is a 90 tonne SMD model with 2 x 45 tonne trolleys on a 24 metre span bridge.
The 90 tonne crane is to be fitted with a power rotational lifting beam for handling rolls of paper.
The cranes which Konecranes UK are supplying are from their CXT and SMD Spacemaker models which are recognised worldwide in the paper industry for their ease of maintenance and jumbo reel handling with the highest reliability and load positioning accuracy using Konecranes state of the art DynA technology with features such as PLC linked with Dyna inverter.
The new cranes will be fully equipped with all Konecranes modern features, such as DynA Invertor control on all motions and will be operated through Konecranes Remox radio control.
Konecranes own AC Frequency Control System provides the most modern and reliable drive for cranes, significantly improving controllability and reducing maintenance costs.
True vertical lift, floodlights, all motion limit switches, back up pendant controls, totally enclosed live axle transmissions and festoon cables will be fitted as standard.
Each crane will have Konecranes Premium ControlPro Monitor to minimise maintenance downtime and additionally, Konecranes UK has accepted an extensive availability guarantee for uptime.
