Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Sep 25, 2006

ATEX flameproof glands are approved for use in Zones 1 and 2 hazardous area classifications and are designed for use in conjunction with all Kopex Liquid Tight flexible metallic conduits.

The Kopex International HAM, HAMM and HAMS ranges of ATEX flameproof glands are approved for use in Zones 1 and 2 hazardous area classifications.

They are designed for use in conjunction with all Kopex Liquid Tight flexible metallic conduits.

Kopex is unique in being able to offer a combination of glands and conduits which are third party approved for such applications, rather than merely self-certified.

Available in brass, metal coated and stainless steel versions, these ATEX flameproof glands are essential for use where an explosive atmosphere is, or is expected, to be present.

This includes areas such as the petrochemical industries, offshore oil and gas, nuclear industry, London Underground and the food industry.

Approved for areas where either gas or dust may be present, ATEX glands have both EExd flameproof and EExe safety protection certification.

The glands are also Baseefa certified and UL listed.

The ATEX gland operates within a temperature range for -60 deg C to +80 deg C and has a T6 temperature classification of +85 deg C, the maximum temperature that the surface of the gland will attain at an ambient temperature of +40 deg C.

IP66 ingress protection is also provided.

ATEX glands are available from Kopex International's network of accredited specialist stockists who can provide full technical and product support.
