Korenix Launches World's First 4/8-Port Wide Temperature Serial Cards

Korenix Technology has recently released the JetCard1204w/1208w, which is a 4- and 8-port RS-232 Universal PCI Wide Temperature Communication Card.

The card is the world's first serial communication card that supports operating temperatures between -40C and 85C, providing the perfect solution for extreme industrial environments, such as building automation, security, billboard broadcasting, or any outdoor applications.

In addition to withstanding extreme temperatures, the JetCard 1204w/1208w uses a high performance single chip solution OX16C954, a 4-port Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter, from Oxford semiconductors.

Each UART channel in the JetCard offers data rates up to 921.6 Kbps and 128-byte deep transmitter and receiver FIFOs.

Deep FIFOs reduce the CPU's loading and allow utilization of higher data rates.

Each UART channel is software compatible with the widely-used industry-standard 16C550 devices.

In addition to increased performance and FIFO size, the JetCard 1204w/1208w also improves automatic software flow control by using XON/XOFF, and automatic hardware flow control by using CTS#/RTS# to prevent FIFO over-run.

Moreover, the JetCard 1204w/1208w comes with 15KV ESD surge protection, protecting your communications from power instability.

The JetCard 1204w/1208w has an easy-to-install driver that supports Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003 and Linux.
