Ethernet-based block I/O modules have processor
Ethernet-based block I/O modules perform analog I/O, digital I/O, and temperature measurement in an Ethernet network with Modus/TCP protocol at LAN, intranet or Internet.
fibre transmission extends the serial signals up to 40km (JetCon 2401-s single-mode) or up to 5km (JetCon 2401-m multi-mode) and provides a higher level of signal quality and security than copper cabling.
A fibre optic network link is immune to EMI, RFI, cross-talk, ground loops and other electrical problems, greatly enhancing the signal quality in severe environments.
Today's network infrastructure needs connectivity solutions that are reliable and scalable as well as secure and manageable.

The convertor provides connectivity between a wide variety of serial devices.
Connection to RS232 or RS422/485 interface, the unit is configured by an easily accessible DIP-switch on the side panel of the unit.
Integrated configurable terminators support the RS-422 and RS-485 operations, allowing the unit to be deployed at any node in the serial line.
The JetCon 2401 serial convertors automatically detect the signal baud rate of the connected full-duplex serial device, ranging from 300 to 921,600 baud, and automatically adjust to changes in the connected device's baud rate during operation without reconfiguration or interruption of service.
The JetCon 2401 series supports two transmission configurations, Peer to Peer full duplex and Serial fibre Ring half duplex.
In a pear-to-pear configuration, two fibres are required between the two convertors, one for data in each direction (RX and TX).
To expand the number of connected serial devices and connection range, Serial fibre Ring configuration requires one fibre between TX and RX to form a loop.
Each transmitter (TX port) is tied to the following convertor's receiver (RX port), starting at a master node and continuing around to each slave and back to the master.
All data sent from the master or preceding slaves is echoed back out the fibre transmitter to the rest of the slaves and eventually back to the master node.
The JetCon 2401 is designed to work in industrial operating temperature ranges from -20C to +70C.
This makes convertor suitable for extreme applications such as traffic controls, outdoor SCADA installations, water treatment plants and power substations.
To meet industrial installation requirements, JetCon 2401 has terminal block connections for the serial signals and power input, two ST connectors for the fibre side, DIN Rail mount kit for installation.
The JetCon 2401 series also provides stronger safety protection with EMS Level 3, criterion performance A standard approval.
