Injection mould system has fast colour changeover
Meeting high quality standards, a steering wheel injection moulding production system includes a micro-colour metering system for quick and easy colour changes.
Krauss-Maffei has booked an order for a PUR foam system from Pakistan automotive components supplier AuVitronics, Karachi.
AuVitronics supplies steering wheels under a Technical Licence Agreement with Toyota Gosei Co, Japan for Toyota Corollas and will be using the system for foam-encapsulating steering wheel elements.
The application-specific production system meets the high quality standards that Toyota sets for the surface finish of its steering wheels.
The new system makes AuVitronics the technology leader in steering wheel production in Pakistan.
The system features Krauss-Maffei's new micro-colour metering system for quick and easy colour changes.
All elements in contact with colourbatch and coloured material can be changed within minutes.
The result is very short set-up and colour-change times.
Less waste is an extra benefit.
The moulds on the new system are fitted with autovents that allow gases - but not material - to escape during the foaming process.
This technology, previously used only in the manufacture of flexible foams, also helps to reduce the volume of production waste.
These features contribute to a clean and cost-saving system.
In its role as system partner, Krauss-Maffei, is supplying AuVitronics with a complete, turnkey system - from the mixing and metering machine to the moulds and mould carriers.
