Vices provide highest clamping force
With a jaw opening of 8.8in and repeatability to within 0.001in, a range of vices provide precision clamping with the highest clamping force for any given input torque.
Kurt's new D688 Vices set the industry standard for precision clamping with the highest clamping force for any given input torque With a jaw opening of 8.8in and repeatability to within 0.001in, these vices produce up to 7,968 lb clamping force with just 80ft.lb input torque

Customised vices provide flexible workholding
Twin customised Kurt vices (vises) at Haberman Machine accurately centre two heavy workpieces over a machine pallet for extra rigidity while facilitating aggressive metal removal.
Workholding system extends vice capability
Kurt Manufacturing's Hydramax workholding system for its 8in vices holds five or eight parts in a single clamping and replace standard jaw plates.
According to Kurt workholding engineers, this is up to 36% greater clamping torque than equivalent competitor vices.
This high clamping force/low input torque advantage holds true through the D688's entire clamping force range.
Designed with high precision roller bearings and a hardened vise screw mechanism (competitor models use less efficient ball bearings), D688 vices distribute clamping force evenly and precisely across the full jaw surface.
The Anglock spherical segment in the moveable jaw (originally patented by Kurt) further reduces jaw lift.
Adding to overall vise rigidity while absorbing machining vibration, Kurt D688 vices have porosity-free, 80,000 lb/in2 ductile iron bodies.
Thick, baked epoxy finish protects vise body from corrosion.
Together, these design features combine for many years of trouble-free, precise, repeatable clamping backed by Kurt's exclusive Lifetime Ironclad Warranty.
Additional features include removable, hardended jaw plates, ergonomically designed vise handle and GrooveLock workstops that store easily in the vise body.
Designed for use on all types of machine tools including machining centers, knee-type mills and grinders, D688 vices are ideal for all types of machining operations.
These include precision boring, tapping, drilling, grinding and finishing with high accuracy on most part configurations.
