One-size pressure sensor for glow plug
adapters
Kistler Instruments has introduced the Type 6056A pressure sensor for use in glow plug adapters which allows cylinder pressure measurements to be taken close to the combustion.
Kistler Instruments has announced a pressure sensor for use in glow plug adapters which removes the need to have more than one type of sensor available to cover a range of glow plug geometries The Type 6056A is based on the M5 size sensor element fitted with a miniature connector
This allows the sensor to be fitted deep inside a wide variety of adapter bodies.
The use of a glow plug adapter, in place of the original glow plug, permits cylinder pressure measurements to be taken close to the combustion without the need for a separate measuring bore.
Kistler designs and manufactures adapters to suit the geometry of the original glow plug and the cylinder head space available.
