Weld and fastening monitor works at machine
A battery powered measuring system for analysing joining methods, such as spot welding, clinching and riveting, measures and records the force-vs-time and force-vs-distance curve.
An easy to use, battery powered measuring system for analysing spot welding, clinching and riveting has been introduced by Kistler Instruments.
The Type 5825A2 welding and fastening monitor, when combined with the Type 9831A welding force calibration sensor, monitors, analyses and optimises metal joining equipment in the production environment.
The analyser measures and records the force-vs-time and force-vs-distance curve for post-cycle evaluation directly on the production machine.
When monitoring welding, the analyser plots electrode force against time.
In combination with the welding current switching signal, allowing the relevant process variables to be determined for each welding cycle for analysis and optimization of the process.
In fastening mode, suitable inserts in the welding force calibration transmitter enables the instrument to record and analyse the clinching or riveting force curve.
In addition, in voltmeter mode, the analyser operates as a digital voltmeter with an input range of +/-5V to display the output of a calibration transmitter.
The new welding and fastening monitor is a portable and effective method of carrying out the following.
* In situ performance monitoring of welding clinching and riveting machines.
* Setting up production machines for new operations.
* Calibrating spot welding and joining equipment.
* Optimising welding and joining cycle times.
