Kuka, an award-winning supplier of high-technology industrial robots and automation systems, has made three appointments to its engineering team.

Kuka, the award-winning supplier of high-technology industrial robots and automation systems, has made three new appointments to its engineering team Stephen Reed has become the Halesowen-based company's new engineering manager while Andrew Silcox has joined as a project engineer

Reed brings a wealth of experience to his new role at KUKA, having spent 35 years in the machine tool industry.

He has previously held managerial positions with Cross Hueller and Kryle Machine Tools.

As head of Kuka's project and design team, Reed's responsibilities will include the development of a range of enhanced engineering services and internal administration systems.

Silcox, who holds a degree in manufacturing and business studies, was previously a senior technical consultant for machine tool maker Amada, specialising in laser, automation and CAD/CAM products.

His role at Kuka will involve the management of robot system integration projects from initial concept and design through to final installation.

Completing the trio of new appointments is Dennis Mascall, who has joined Kuka as a control systems engineer.

He has extensive expertise in the electrical design and commissioning of electrical control systems, having previously worked for several large OE manufacturers and control system designers in the Midlands.

Kuka has also promoted two members of its engineering team, Steve Hudson and Steve Cooper, who have been appointed as the company's new controls manager and projects manager respectively.

Hudson, who has qualifications in electrical and software engineering, has worked as a controls engineer for Kuka and its sister company, Thompson, since 1994.

His new role will involve overseeing the company's team of controls engineers, working on numerous and varied projects from concept to completion.

Cooper, who has degrees in mechanical engineering and manufacturing systems, joined Kuka as an engineer five years ago.
