Palletising robot handles up to 40kg payloads
Fast, flexible and user-friendly medium payload, high-speed palletising robot with 40kg payload is suitable for virtually any packaging or handling task.
Fast, flexible and user-friendly are the hallmarks of KUKA Automation + Robotics' new medium payload, high-speed palletising robot which is suitable for virtually any packaging or handling task.
KUKA's versatile KR40PA boasts an impressive 40kg payload handling capacity and a reach which extends up to 2091mm, making it ideal for manual, time-consuming applications such as order picking and assembly.
The four-axis robot is lightweight and very quick thanks to its aluminium body and carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CRP) main arm.
This clever use of lightweight materials, coupled with optimised dynamic motion from KUKA's PC-based controller, gives the robot 'class leading' cycle time capability for typical pick-cycles.
It can be easily integrated into an existing production line as it is equipped with its own integrated energy supply harness and also features innovative working range monitoring through KUKA's 'Safe Robot' functionality.
KUKA have also launched two intuitive software programs, PalletTech and DePallet Tech, which are specially designed to make programming and operator control extremely easy.
The KR40PA is the latest addition to KUKA's extensive range of palletising robots which already includes variants with payload capacities of 100kg, 180kg, 360kg and 570kg as well as a specialist Arctic version for working in cold store rooms.
KUKA will also shortly introduce the KR50PA which will offer extremely high cycle times for various packaging applications.
"This new palletising robot and PalletTech software have been specifically developed in conjunction with KUKA's Robogistics team, a group of robotics experts dedicated to producing the best automated solutions for the logistics and packaging sectors," commented Brett Green, KUKA's general sales manager.
"The new KR40 PA demonstrates how the combination of leading-edge robot technology and intuitive software can transform almost any arduous manual task into an innovative, high-performance operation," he added.
The KR40PA and KUKA's palletising software functions will be on show at the PPMA exhibition at Birmingham's NEC from September 27-29.
KUKA Automation + Robotics, based in Hereward Rise, Halesowen, is one of the UK's leading suppliers of high technology industrial robots and automated production solutions.
