KUKA Robotics has introduced its KR5 Sixx robot family for applications requiring six-axis functions for long reach tasks The KUKA KR5 Sixx robot family includes 650mm and 850mm reach models and are said to be capable of handling payloads up to 5kg

The six-axis robots' light weight gives them optimum acceleration and maximum working velocities, added the company.

The new robots, when combined with KUKA Robotics' PC-based control platform, are claimed to give customers easy to use and easy to learn pick and place automation systems.

The KR5 Sixx robots range is said to broaden the KUKA product line to include compact space-saving robots that are claimed to be amongst the fastest and most reliable robots in their class.

"Customers with pick and place, or material handling applications that require the flexibility of six-axis operation will find the KR5 Sixx ideal," said Kevin Kozuszek, director of marketing for KUKA Robotics. Request a free brochure from KUKA Automation + Robotics ...
