A 1500W version added to power supplies
Powerful 1500W high power density, high efficiency power supply is RoHS compliant, and achieves even greater power within its small frame - some 60% less than last generation.
"With efficiencies up to 90% at 5V and even 86% at 2.5V the new PAQ series is the most efficient quarter-brick DC-DC power module currently available on the market," enthused Martin Southam, Lambda's UK sales director.
"Most power modules on the market today require heatsink cooling but the high efficiency we have achieved at low output voltages eliminates this costly and space consuming need by utilising system air cooling.
Add to this the use of our custom ASIC technology and we have an extremely powerful, compact and reliable unit that is exactly what telecoms designers need to increase system performance while reducing 'real estate'." The PAQ series offers two power ratings of 50 or 150W.

DIN-rail mount AC-DC power supplies offer choice
Designed with size, efficiency and reliability in mind, a range of compact single-output DIN-rail mount AC-DC power supplies provides a choice of 5, 12, 15, 24 and 48V output.
Din-rail mounted range expanded with new PFC types
Leading power supply specialist Lambda has added three new models to its popular DRP series of DIN-rail mounted power supplies: the DRP144-1, DRP288-1 and DRP600-1.
Optical probes check moulding materials in process
Sapphire window optical process probes fit into standard transducer ports on extruders, injection moulding machines o allow on-line spectroscopic analysis of a wide range of materials.
There is a choice of five output voltages for each model ranging from 1.2 to 5V with intermediate output voltages of 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3V.
Output adjustment is possible on all models.
Nominal input is 48V DC with a range of 36 to 76V DC.
Employing industry standard footprints and pinouts both the PAQ50 and PAQ100 take up just 36.8 x 57.9mm of board area.
An ultra low height profile of 8.5mm addresses the trend towards decreasing card pitches in end equipment.
Baseplate cooled versions suitable for heatsinking are available for exceptional environmental or reduced airflow conditions.
The units have a wide operating temperature of -40 to +85degC which means they can be used in even the harshest of wireless basestation operating environments.
The PAQ series features overvoltage, overtemperature and overcurrent protection as standard.
Overvoltage and overcurrent auto restart options are available.
Series operation is possible, as is remote on/off control and remote sensing.
The PAQ series is CE marked in accordance with the low voltage directive and meets Level B EMI requirements with an external filter.
It is compliant with global safety standards UL1950, EN60950 and CSA950.
