Its new low emission solvent ultrasonic cleaning plant, which has been designed and manufactured by Layton Technologies, uses two tanks for a process which includes immersion in solvent liquid with ultrasonics and vapour or vapour only.
The system is loaded and unloaded with an external handling system which is further enhanced by an automated sealed sliding system on the process tank to create a seal to effectively control emissions.
Sophisticated controls are in place with a PLC and touch screen display panel which allows the user to modify the process by using a password and selecting a pre-determined number of programs.
The panel also displays other detailed information such as the solvent's temperature.
If it exceeds a pre-set point the heaters will automatically safely deactivate.
Vapour temperature is also constantly displayed on the panel and if it rises above a pre-determined level the system will shut down to avoid emissions.
Although it uses Trichloroethylene, the plant has the flexibility to use an alternative fluid at a later date with only minor modifications.
The plant also uses state-of-the-art configurations which ensure extremely low solvent consumption and low running costs.
The plant has been manufactured from 304 grade stainless steel and all components which come into contact with solvent liquid or vapour are pickled, passivated and electropolished to not only produce a high quality finish but to also increase the longevity of the plant.
A number of additional special safety features have been incorporated into the design.
The sealing lid, which uses low pressure air, will only close if there is no obstruction.
A low level detector is also positioned in the boil tank to monitor the correct levels of fluid in the system and if fall below the safe working level the machine will safely shut down.
