This re-settable, re-usable and tamper-proof device monitors the handling of fragile goods and freight containers over 180kgs.

When an impact occurs, the device records the direction and angle of impact.

The new feature provides irrefutable evidence of an impact by recording the exact date and time the impact occurred, claimed Lamerholm.

The MAG 2000 utilises what are described as two highly sensitive magnets that are triggered when a shock or vibration is strong enough to disrupt the magnetic attraction.

That causes the upper magnet to move from its home position and appear in a new visible position within the unit.

The position of the upper magnet clearly indicates the angle of impact.

A key is supplied to unlock the cover on the unit and that allows the product to be reset after activation, whilst preventing tampering.

The activation point is factory set, with 10 standard activation values - 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, 6G, 7G, 10G, 11G, 16G, and 20G.

The new time and date stamp feature is claimed to provide clear information about when the impact occurred, so accountability for any damage can be determined.

Existing MAG 2000 Impact Indicators can be retrofitted with a new lid that houses the date and time stamping feature, which is offered as an add-on product enhancement.
