AS-interface slave connects light curtains
Believed to be the first IP67 AS-interface slave for connecting standard light curtains, scanners and controllers it uses solid state safety outputs in safety applications.
LC Automation are members of the UK AS-interface Expert Alliance and leading suppliers of AS-interface and AS-interface Safety at Work products and solutions.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the UE4215 AS-interface network slave from Erwin Sick, the first IP67 AS-interface slave for connecting standard light curtains, scanners and controllers with solid state safety outputs in safety applications.
As well as simple integration of standard equipment with solid state OSSD safety outputs, this unique AS-interface Safety at Work slave also allows standard muting systems or other products such as the non muting intelligent C4000 entry-exit/ access guarding system to be connected directly to your AS-interface network.
Yet, the UE4215 AS-interface slave can still achieve category 4 integration in the safety control system according to BS EN 954-1.
One obvious advantage of the UE4215 is that inventory management is minimised to just standard devices, rather than handling both standard and AS-interface integrated equipment.
Less obvious, but critically important, is that systems such a light curtains and laser scanners are often mounted on the extremities of a machine as part of their normal application.
Connecting network cables directly to such exposed equipment renders the entire network vulnerable, whereas utilising a Sick UE4215 AS-interface slave, rather than embedded technology, means that the network hardware can be fully protected from possible damage.
Together with the UE42XX range of safety monitors and slaves, SICK and LC Automation offer a wide range of AS-interface products for automation and safety applications.
In fact, LC Automation are your single order point for your entire AS-interface network, with some of the best technical assistance and backup available anywhere in the UK.
