Industrial PCs are extremely slim

A LC Automation product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jun 29, 2005

Slim industrial PCs provide control, operation and process visualisation functionality for a wide variety of plant and machinery applications.

Following the very successful launch of their E1000 Series HMI's, LC Automation are pleased to announce that the Mitsubishi IPC1000 range of industrial PC's are now available! With a choice of Eco Panel and Business Panel versions these excellent new Industrial PC's are extremely slim, with an attractive and ergonomic design.

Specifically geared to the special needs of industrial automation applications, they each provide control, operation and process visualisation functionality for a wide variety of plant and machinery applications.

The compact Eco Panels have all interfaces you would expect from a quality industrial PC and are available in either 12.1in or 15in touch panels, with an Intel Celeron processor running at 650MHz or a 933MHz Intel Pentium III processor.

These compact and fan-less Eco Panels are ideal as a stand-alone solution for compact applications.

The Business Panel versions can be expanded with PCI cards.

They are available with 15in and 17in screens and in touch screen or key-operated versions.

The standard processor for the Business Panels is the Intel Celeron running at 1,200MHz; but alternative processors are available as options, up to the Pentium III running at 1.5GHz.

The Business Panel versions also include an additional front USB port, two PCI slots, a 3.5in floppy disk drive and a CD-ROM drive as standard.

One important feature, is that the Business Panel versions can also be configured as a distributed solution with the PC in a switchgear cabinet and a separate screen unit (requires an optional expansion kit, mounting panels and special extension cable - not included).

All the signals and the power supply required by the screen unit are transported via a single cable, which can be up to 15m long.

The entire IPC1000 series are also specially optimised for use with the MX4 process visualisation software.

This powerful and user-friendly package from Mitsubishi Electric is specifically designed for automation systems and is available in two versions, MX4 HMI and MX4 SCADA.

It provides detailed analyses and archiving functions for all operating data and has standard integrated redundancy functionality for reliable protection against failures of both plant and processes.

The IPC1000 series is one of three components in the Vision 1000 concept that Mitsubishi Electric has recently launched, ushering in a new era in process visualisation.

The company is now quickly optimising its entire control and display panel programme for this concept, giving users technologically advanced and user-friendly HMI's for both plant control and process visualisation.

The other components in the concept are the E1000 HMI panel series and the new GOT1000 series.
