SNK America offers Nissin Max I-Series

A SNK America product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Mar 11, 2009

The five-axis trunnion machining capability of the Nissin Max I-Series from SNK America is claimed to save manufacturing time and costs.

Featuring a large work envelope, the Nissin Max I-Series machining centres access five sides of a part and complete the part in just one setup for reduced labour and production time.

Built-in five-axis operation also decreases work-holding and fixturing expenses.

The trunnion mounting of the Max I-Series is claimed to provide machining stability and accuracy, as well as enhanced contouring capabilities.

The Max I-Series features a true trunnion axis - not a cantilever style.

The trunnion table of the Max I-Series supports payload and cutting force at both ends of the trunnion.

Rigid table designs allow for ample swing area for accurate machining of larger parts.

Massive cast-iron frames with a honeycomb design and bridge-type construction further contribute to the rigidity and precision of the Max I-Series, even during heavy high-speed cutting.

The Max I-Series is engineered and built with a Fanuc direct drive motor that drives both the rotary and tilting axes.

This is intended to provide higher rotating speed, more efficient power transfer and increased repeatability.

The Max I-Series is available in Max410i and Max710i models.

Each is suitable for aircraft, mould and die, medical, automotive and complicated shape applications.

The models are available in two different configurations: true contouring five axis or positioning five axis (up to four axes simultaneous control).

The Max410i-F40 and the Max710i-F40/F50 are contouring five-axis machines featuring spindle speeds of up to 20,000 revolutions per minute, 17in round tables (20in square Max710i), 30 revolutions-per-minute tilting speeds (25 revolutions-per-minute Max710i) and 150 revolutions-per-minute rotary speeds (125 revolutions-per-minute Max710i).

The Max410i-P40 and the Max710i-P50 are positioning five-axis machines (up to four axes simultaneous control) featuring speeds of up to 12,000 revolutions per minute (10,000 revolutions-per-minute Max710i), 17in round tables (20in square Max710i), 25 revolutions-per-minute tilting speeds (eight revolutions-per-minute Max710i) and 40 revolutions-per-minute rotary speeds (30 revolutions-per-minute Max710i).

The Nissin Max I-Series is one of the many advanced machinery lines available from SNK America.
