Rotary transfer machine manufacturer, Lindenmaier, announced at the METAV show that it is to change its name to LICON MT from June 30 onwards to open up new markets.

Managing director, Winfried Benz said about the parting with the Lindenmaier name: "With the new name, we have the start point for the opening of new markets.

LICON MT should be seen in times to come as clear-cut in conjunction with further innovations in the area of metal-cutting." As producer of flexible machine tools for individual metal cutting tasks, LICON MT will concentrate, above all, on flexible rotary transfer (dial) machines.

The main customer is the automotive industry and its suppliers as well as other branches engaged in series production of parts above 50,000-off.

The company has diverse large projects in hand in Asia, America and Europe.

The company employs around 170 and, aiming at machining cycles below 1 minute, involves itself in: * Development and construction of flexible machine tools.

* Precision metal cutting modules and unit heads.

* Special-purpose machine tools.

* Machine tool rebuilds and extensions.

* Service * Profitable manufacturing of high precision parts and assembly to order.

During the 1930s, the company has been known for series production metal cutting.

During the 1960s it began to build machine tools too.

Up until 1995, both activities were carried out under the name of Lindenmaier AG until, the machine tool building was separated out under the name of Lindenmaier GmbH and Co.

KG, headed by Winfried Benz.

The company delivered systems to VW, DaimlerChrysler, Skoda, Ford, Saab and General Motors.

On June 4, 2004, the company was won an award from VW as Supplier in the NAFTA-Region.
