Quick-change chuck speeds changeovers
Capable of fast changeovers, a collet chuck has a runout accuracy of only five microns and is a replacement for other styles of collet chucks in bar-fed turning applications.
Lexon boasts 30 per cent more gripping power than multi-bore systems, so the resulting faster machining speeds and feeds reduce cycle times, and its extra rigidity generates increased tool life and improved surface finishes compared with other bar-fed lathe chucks.
In addition, for a limited period, Leader Chuck Systems is offering Lexon at a special package price embracing chuck and ten collets plus a free Manu-Quick quick-change manual collet-changing 'gun' worth over GBP.
Manu-Quick enables collets to be changed over in seconds while still maintaining accuracy.
Available in two chuck sizes capable of accommodating maximum bar diameters of 52mm and 65mm and A5 and A6 spindle noses, Lexon Type 52 can be provided with collet clamping heads 4mm to 52mm diameter and are also available with square and hexagon bores.
Type 65 heads will handle round bar of 5mm to 65mm, and is also available for square and hexagon bar.
A front-end stop can be provided.
Produced by Hainbuch using lean manufacturing techniques - which has enabled Leader to develop such a keen pricing strategy - Lexon collet chucks retain the high-quality, high-accuracy build standards the German manufacturer is renowned for.
The new Manu-Quick trigger-type manual collet-changing system complements Hainbuch's existing handwheel and pneumatic-type quick-changers.
