Machine tool builder relies on best chuck specs
A specialist supplier of turning and milling machines for education and light industrial applications relies on the correct combination of chuck specification, performance and economy.
The correct combination of chuck specification, performance and cost-effectiveness has ensured that Leader Chuck Systems products are frequently specified by Boxford, the specialist supplier of turning and milling machines for education and light industrial applications the world over.
Leader, the award-winning workholding solutions provider, has been supplying the Halifax-based machine tool builder with a wide variety of chucks over the years because, says Boxford's development director Paul Barraclough: "Leader chucks have consistently offered the correct mix of accuracy and longevity at the right price to complement the renowned build quality of our machines." As well as being designed for simplicity of operation, Boxford's machine tools are of rigid construction and are available in a variety of options with lathe models, for example, featuring variable speeds and different centre heights and bed lengths.
To date, Boxford has supplied schools, Government departments and industry in more than 90 countries with over 25,000 machines, including its VSL, AUD, BUD, CUD and TUD ranges of lathes for which Leader Chuck Systems has supplied a variety of chucks.
One example is Leader's own-brand of self-contained air chucks, where the action is actuated by pneumatic power from a single 80 psi air supply, available in diameters from 80mm to 315mm.
These complement a comprehensive family of power chucks, compact static chucks as well as pallet chucks and vices available ex-stock.
In addition, the company has an acknowledged reputation for developing innovative solutions to fixturing problems of every kind.
Commenting on the long-lasting partnership, Mark Jones, Leader Chuck Systems' managing director, said: "The fact that we have been enjoying such a long ongoing business relationship with Boxford - as well as with other machine tool OEMs - is a direct reflection of the quality of product and service we offer.
"By continually enhancing our products and introducing new and improved working procedures, our aim is to do everything we can to ensure companies like Boxford continue to be a success.".
