Workholding specialist Leader Chuck Systems has announced its latest clutch of export orders from Scandinavia for its award-winning MultiChuck MMY top face-operated concentric clamping system.

Birmingham-based workholding specialist Leader Chuck Systems has announced its latest clutch of export orders from Scandinavia for its award-winning MultiChuck MMY top face-operated concentric clamping system Secured by the company's agents - Partille Tool Trading AB in Sweden and Dahl A/S in Denmark - the orders embrace ten 100 mm two-jaw MMY chucks for Swedish customers and four 80mm two-jaw MMY chucks for Danish users

The winner of the Best Workholding Product at the International Machine Tool Industry Awards, MultiChuck MMY brings a host of advantages to the self-centring of round parts on vertical and horizontal machining centres, milling machines and grinders - not least rapid clamping and short set-up times.

This is courtesy of a simple top face operation that enables more chucks, and therefore workpieces, to be 'banked' closely together - which is not the case with the traditional side face lock/unlock strategy.

Available with two or three jaws, MultiChuck MMY combines fast initial jaw travel with controlled second-stage clamping to provide a large jaw opening with high gripping force.

MultiChuck MMY can be provided as standard in a range of chuck sizes - 80mm, 100mm, 125mm and 150mm - and with base dimensions of 80mm by 80mm, 100mm by 100mm, 125mm by 125mm and 150mm by 150mm.

It will fit all slotted machine tables.

Jaw strokes are 4mm, 5mm, 8mm and 10mm across the four variants, and the low height (from 25 to 40mm) maximises the machine's Z axis (height can be increased using blocks).

Quick change top jaws can be supplied to suit most materials/components.

Suitable for external and internal clamping, MMY satisfies both first and second operations in the same machining cycle - thereby providing continuous output of finished components for JIT supply.
