Machining centre investment beats competition
To remain competitive a UK engineering company employs high technology machine tools and its most recently acquired machining centre has realised a productivity gain of almost 25%.
Trunnion-type 5-axis VMC cuts hard materials
Trunnion table type vertical machining centre - aimed at the aerospace industry - also suits mould and die work and offers power for high torque machining of hard materials.
Kitamura machining centres demonstrated
A 5-axis VMC combines ultra high precision, high speed machining performance and high torque cutting capability with a standard positional accuracy of +/-0.001mm.
This high specification machine includes a special version of the Fanuc 16iMB CNC control with 500 block look ahead, NURBS interpolation and a 16MB data server.
Aimed at high speed machining and high accuracy markets with +/-0.002mm positional accuracy, the machine is guaranteed to be a success.
Also on show will be the proven technology of the Mycenter M-2XiF Sparkchanger twin pallet vertical machining centre, the Mytrunnion 5-axis vertical machining centre, the Mycenter HX400iF horizontal machining centre linked to a Fastems FPC flexible pallet container system and the Mycenter HX500i horizontal machining centre.
The Mycenter M-2XiF utilises box slideway technology and has a pallet change time of 5s.
To optimise power and metal removal rates the M-2XiF SP includes a geared drive and dual contact spindle to make it a machine of exceptional quality and productivity.
For ultra high precision, speed, performance and high torque cutting capability, the Mytrunnion machine is a leader in its class.
It uses linear glass scales and fibre optic technology to provide a positional accuracy of +/- 0.001mm with repeatability of +/-0.0005mm.
Another highlight at the show will be the Mycenter HX400iF; incorporating the latest technology this machine will be linked to a Fastems FPC flexible pallet system to demonstrate its proven compatibility with storage/retrieval systems.
The versatility of this powerful high speed machine is fully exploited when linked to a multi-pallet system incorporating scheduling, production monitoring and full flexibility of operation.
Another horizontal machine on the stand will be the Mycenter HX500i.
With a weight of over 20 tonnes and a geared AC26kW spindle drive developing 380Nm of torque, it offers the highest metal removal capability of any machine in the 50 taper class.
With a tool to tool time of 2s for a 20kg tool, this machine has a long term performance and productivity second to none.
The product launches and the new technologies adapted to current machines make Kitamura a true Leader in the field of machine tools - for information on any of the exciting new developments either visit us on the stand or talk to the UK's main distributor Leader CNC.
