Servo barfeed has under 3 min set-up
time
Barfeed uses a fully electric servo driven magazine to provide fast and easy handling, which is demonstrated with its remarkable set-up times of less than three minutes.
The new Samsys 3000 barfeed available from Leader CNC of Nuneaton is a completely new concept in barfeed technology, using a fully electric servo driven magazine developed from over 2000 units already installed The focus of the Samsys 3000 is fixed firmly on fast and easy handling, which is demonstrated with its remarkable set-up times of less than three minutes

Machining centre investment beats competition
To remain competitive a UK engineering company employs high technology machine tools and its most recently acquired machining centre has realised a productivity gain of almost 25%.
Designed for user friendly operation, the Samsys 3000 has a unique loading cycle that uses rotary movement to eliminate bar damage caused by cascading.
Stored on an inclined rack, bars are retained and follow the movement of the selector grips prior to being placed on a V-loader, which remains fixed and accurately aligned with the lathe spindle during the barfeed cycle.
Spindle liners can also be changed without retracting the barfeeder.
The servo drive permits extremely accurate positioning of any length of bar stored in the magazine without the use of a turret stop and is also used to calculate component lengths to reduce wastage of remnants and make full use of round or profiled raw material.
The high performance Samsys 3000 electronic control system has been designed with user friendliness being a focal point, immediately demonstrated by only having 12 input keys.
The interactive editor is self diagnostic that permits easy rectification of any problem as well as permanently displaying position and status and signals received and sent.
The result of these new concepts provides the end user with fully automated production and an increase in productivity as well as reducing manufacturing costs.
