Barfeed uses a fully electric servo driven magazine to provide fast and easy handling, which is demonstrated with its remarkable set-up times of less than three minutes.
The Mycenter HX500iF guarantees a positional and repeatability accuracy of +/-0.002 and +/-0.001mm respectively, some credit due to its precision cooled twin ballscrews on each axis.
This accuracy is combined with a beefy 50 taper dual contact spindle that utilizes a powerful AC26kW motor developing 380Nm of torque.
These elements are linked by a two-step geared drive that develops full power at 652 rev/min for machining the toughest materials while the high range delivers a 'blazing' 12,000 rev/min for high speed machining.
Coupled with Kitamura's original shockless drive mechanism that minimizes vibration, the headstock completely relieves the spindle bearings from unclamping thrust shock to ensure long term precision of the spindle bearings.
The cartridge type spindle also has a refrigerated oil flow that adds to the precision of the Mycenter HX500iF whilst increasing long term reliability.
Adding to the remarkable accuracy, rigidity and power of the machine is unbelievable productivity.
The HX500iF can handle four-sided tombstones for multi-part loading or one component up to 1090mm high, 800mm in diameter and weighing up to 800kg.
Even with this load, the pallet changer can exchange pallets in 6s and clamp with a 70kN (7 tonf) force - the full 4th rotary 'B' axis is standard for complex machining and full angular access.
Kitamura's developed fixed pot tool changer can be expanded from the standard configuration of 50 up to 100, 150 or 200 and multi pallet systems are also available.
This versatile and robust machine, weighing in at nearly 20 tonnes, has an incredible 50m/min rapid federate in the X, Y and Z axes, making it one of the very fastest machines in its class.
