Productive HMC has fast tool and pallet
change
A highly productive horizontal machining centre for medium to long batch runs with small components and a limited floor space has exceptionally small footprint and fast tool and pallet changes.
At the MACH 2006 exhibition on Stand 5283 will be the new generation of Kitamura machine tools, now represented in the UK and Ireland by Leader CNC Technologies Further to the successes at EMO, Hanover in 2005, these high quality and high specification Japanese machine tools will undoubtedly make a big impact at MACH 2006, backed by the engineering back-up from the new Distributor

Since being named as the exclusive Kitamura Distributor in late 2004, Leader CNC has sold several high quality Kitamura machine tools throughout the UK to new and existing users in a diverse range of industry sectors.
At MACH 2006, Leader CNC will highlight the capabilities of the Kitamura Mycenter SuperTrunnion and HX250iF machines.
The Kitamura Mycenter HX250iF is a highly productive horizontal machining centre suited to companies producing medium to long batch runs with small components and a limited floor space.

Servo barfeed has under 3 min set-up time
Barfeed uses a fully electric servo driven magazine to provide fast and easy handling, which is demonstrated with its remarkable set-up times of less than three minutes.
Machining centre investment beats competition
To remain competitive a UK engineering company employs high technology machine tools and its most recently acquired machining centre has realised a productivity gain of almost 25%.
Horizontal and vertical machining centres launched
A 5 axis horizontal machining centre, with a newly designed pallet exchange system and trunnion arrangement has linear/rotary scales that guarantee high accuracy and high metal removal.
With an exceptionally small footprint and 'lightning quick' tool and pallet changes, the HX250iF with its standard full 4th axis rotary for multipart tombstone fixturing is undoubtedly the outstanding machine in its class and a very viable alternative to traditional users of vertical machines.
The Mycenter HX250iF has a 15,000 rev/min spindle combined with an expansive work envelope that enables multiple small part loading, or alternatively a single component 350mm in diameter, 400mm high and weighing 60kg.
When combined with the 1.8 second pallet change, a dual contact 30 taper spindle and a 48m/min rapid rate, this machine makes for extremely fast production times.
A 40 position tool changer is standard, ideal for sister tooling and unmanned operation.
Also on show will be the Kitamura SuperTrunnion.
Developed from the exceptional and proven SuperCell machining centre, the new 5-axis SuperTrunnion is already considered as one of the fastest machines on the market with a traverse rate of 50m/min and tool-to-tool / chip-to-chip times of 1.0 / 3.2 seconds respectively.
Super accuracy is achieved by using a glass scale feedback and an induction scale system on all linear and rotary axes respectively - the machine maintains a positional accuracy of +/-0.001mm.
It has the capability to accept BT40 tools for greater rigidity, with an 80 position tool changer as standard, expandable to 190 tools.
The SuperTrunnion also incorporates Kitamura's gear driven 15,000 rev/min spindle with the option of 20,000 rev/min.
Outperforming competitors, it achieves a highly efficient cutting performance with low energy consumption.
This technology allows the SuperTrunnion to reach full power at 788rpm with an output maximum torque of 157.4Nm.
Compared with conventional spindle designs, this innovation also reduces noise by more than 20%.
These new machines are receiving their UK exhibition debut at MACH 2006.
