Smallest HMC has fast tool changing
A horizontal machining centre is the smallest horizontal on the market and is suited to companies producing medium to long batch runs with small components and a limited floor space.
The MACH 2006 exhibition proved a worthwhile exercise for Leader CNC Technologies as it used the event as an opportunity to promote the Kitamura name in the marketplace.
On stand 5283 the new generation of Kitamura machine tools were extremely well received by visitors to the stand.
The high quality and high specification Japanese machine tools made a significant impact at MACH 2006 with a Kitamura HX250iF machine being sold off the stand.
The Kitamura HX250iF horizontal machining centre is the smallest horizontal on the market and is suited to companies producing medium to long batch runs with small components and a limited floor space.
With a lightning quick tool and pallet changes, the HX250iF with its standard full 4th axis rotary for multipart tombstone fixturing is undoubtedly the outstanding machine in its class and a very viable alternative to traditional users of vertical machines.
The other machine on the Leader CNC stand was the Kitamura MyTrunnion 5-axis vertical machining centre.
Primarily aimed at the aerospace industry the MyTrunnion was a major hit at MACH as its ultra high speed and precision machining performance combined with high power for high torque machining of titanium, inconel and other hard materials guaranteed a high enquiry level.
The MyTrunnion guarantees a positional accuracy of +/-0.001mm and repeatability of +/-0.0005mm, achieved by using glass scale feedback and an induction scale system on all linear and rotary axes respectively.
And with its fibre optic technology for high speed feedback resulting in high acceleration / deceleration it is no wonder the machine attracted so much attention at the UK's showpiece event.
The new machines both received their UK exhibition debut at MACH 2006 as Leader CNC sales director Mike Serzeniewski commented: "Both machines were well received at MACH and it was the ideal platform to return the Kitamura name and technology to the UK.
The show created a new awareness for the Kitamura brand and the support of Pathtrace on our stand with their software solutions re-iterated our commitment to innovation and excellence in providing 5-axis solutions."
