The new training manikin is the size of an average six-year old child, and has numerous features that help to teach students advanced life support techniques including oral and nasal intubation, resuscitation, IV cannulation and cardiac procedures.
A library of heart, lung, bowel and vocal sounds are included.
The manikin and the control unit can be connected to a PC, allowing a number of scenarios to be programmed, and records of the students' performance can be downloaded for reviewing and debriefing purposes.
The MegaCode Kid has 3-4 lead ECG monitoring capability and a large ECG menu for use in instructer controlled scenarios.
The MegaCode Kid is the latest in a range of realistic training manikins from Laerdal that are used by the majority of hospitals and emergency services worldwide.
The handheld VitalSim remote control unit is also available with the Nursing Anne VitalSim Advanced and Nursing Kelly VitalSim.
