Lenze extends frequency inverter series

A Lenze product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Sep 23, 2008

Lenze has added the Highline frequency inverter with integrated point-to-point positioning and power up to 11kW to its 8400 range.

Space-saving mounting options are available and approvals include UL and RoHS.

Control panel size can be reduced by choosing from two options on the 8400 range.

'Cold plate' versions are supplied without a heatsink and therefore have 35mm reduced depth.

The surface on which the inverters are mounted needs to have a high thermal mass or be externally cooled.

The same depth reduction can be achieved by 'push through' versions where the inverter heatsink sits outside of the control panel.

This saves panel space and reduces panel cooling requirements as the majority of the lost energy is external to the cabinet.

8400 Stateline and Highline models have a Canopen port integrated as standard.

Highline models are recommended for applications such as rotary indexing tables, roller doors and positioning tasks in warehouse systems.

Up to 16 position destinations, including the associated travel profiles, can be stored in the inverter.

High positioning accuracy is achieved by evaluation of a two-track encoder signal at up to 100Hz.

The 8400 frequency inverter range is part of the Lenze L-force product portfolio.

Integrated and standard CAN connections allow simple connection to other drives and devices such as I/O and HMI.

Additional fieldbus connections such as Profibus can be added as a plug-in option.
