RFI device offers high read/write standards
Compact robust design of an RFI device ensures precise detection and the highest of read/write standards over distances of 90mm in automated warehousing and handling conveyor applications.
The RFM32 is the latest addition to Leuze Mayser's range of RFI devices, its compact robust design ensuring the highest of read/write standards over distances of 90mm.
Typical of the tracking applications that the new RFI systems will address are object detection in automated warehousing and handling applications, giving a high data transfer rate and precise detection at conveyor belt speeds of 6m/sec.
Utilisation of RFID is gaining a real impact in areas where there needs to be a rapid exchange of data between two objects, the transponders and the reading device.
Leuze Mayser has responded to this growing requirement with an expanding RFI product range with read-write capabilities from 30mm to 700mm.
The new RFM32 system is designed specifically to cope with tough industrial applications and has accordingly been fitted with a number of special technical features including splash water protected in compliance with IP67.
It is also insensitive to dirt accumulation and can operate at temperatures of between -25 deg and +60 deg C.
The transponders are available in a wide range of variants, from a version with high storage capacity of 256 bytes through to a high temperature-resistant version capable of withstanding up to 200 deg C.
The new system RFM32 supports several standardised data protocols in accordance with ISO 15693 such as I-Code and Tag-It.
One of the outstanding features of this system is its capacity for connection to different so-called modular interfacing units, these not only simplify installation, but also permit adaptation to other interfaces, for example networking and field-bus link-up.
