Over 450 ULTRA Scientific inorganic reference standards are now available for immediate delivery to European end users from LGC Promochem.

Over 450 ULTRA Scientific inorganic reference standards are now available for immediate delivery to European end users from LGC Promochem The standards include single and multi-element solutions for elemental emission spectroscopy and atomic absorption

Ion chromatography standards such as nitrate and chloride are also available as either individual standards or mixes.

Standards in the ULTRA Scientific inorganic range are used in the analysis of a diverse range of environmental samples for inorganic contaminants: in river water and sediments and in contaminated soil.

They can also be used for checking plants and other food materials for levels of contamination.

Paints and plastics are often analysed for trace metals by manufacturers, while public analysts and consumer testing laboratories analyse painted and plastic consumer products.

Producers and users of oil and petroleum products also carry out analysis to test for the presence of metals.

Dr Caroline Jones, Business Development Manager for general reference materials at LGC Promochem said: "We are delighted to be in partnership with ULTRA Scientific, one of the world's leading reference standard suppliers.

We know that ULTRA's inorganic standards range is indispensable to those scientists using X-ray fluorescence, inductively coupled plasma and atomic absorption spectroscopy for trace metal analysis.

Enabling successful environmental analysis by providing the highest quality standards strengthens LGC Promochem's commitment to its customers." The ULTRA Scientific inorganic standards range is featured in over 15 pages of LGC Promochem's latest catalogue - 'Reference materials for environmental analysis 2002/2003' - available upon request or download at www.lgcpromochem.com.

Each metals standard has an expiry date of three years from date of manufacture, and is shipped together with a material safety data sheet and a certificate of analysis.
