New chief for group
The Board of LGC Group Holdings has announced the appointment of Dr Nigel Law as Chief Executive of the Group.
The Board of LGC Group Holdings has announced the appointment of Dr Nigel Law as Chief Executive of the Group.
Nigel Law has been Director, Group Operations, since November 2002.
He began his career with Esso Petroleum and spent a period in strategy consulting before joining the German logistics group, Hoyer, where he was responsible for UK business development.
Dr Richard Worswick, who led the management buy-out of LGC nine years ago, moves from Chief Executive to become Deputy Chairman.
Ian Kent continues as Chairman of LGC, Europe's leading independent analytical laboratory.
Ian Kent said: "We are very pleased to announce this appointment and believe that Nigel will help maintain the continued impressive growth record of the company in the UK and increasingly overseas.
His previous experience both inside and outside the company equips him well for this role and he will help LGC to capitalise on the substantial organic growth and acquisition opportunities that lie ahead." Commenting on his new appointment, Dr Nigel Law said: "Since joining LGC in 2002, I have overseen the successful implementation of new laboratory operations in Teddington, Runcorn and Edinburgh, and in Luckenwalde in Germany, to support our forensic, pharmaceutical and food chain analysis.
I am looking forward to playing a key role in the next phase of LGC's development.".
