Motion control company to expand capacity in UK

LG Motion, a UK-based manufacturer of precision motion control systems and components, has purchased a Dugard Eagle 660 vertical machining centre to increase production capacity.

Underpinning its position as a UK-based manufacturer as well as a distributor of precision motion control systems and components, Basingstoke-based LG Motion has taken delivery of a Dugard Eagle 660 vertical machining centre to help increase production capacity and meet customer demands at the start of its third successful year.

The machine is already being put to full use to help provide customers with an even faster and more reliable delivery service for LG Motion's own range of manual and motorised, linear and rotary positioners, customised motion systems and ancillary components.

With significantly faster set up, thanks to its CAD/CAM interface and 24-station carousel tool auto-changer, the new machine has halved production times for LG Motion's small to medium batch manufacturing schedule and has created an increased capacity in line with the Company's planned expansion.

"Along with extremely fast set-up and production times, the Dugard Eagle 660 gives us much more flexibility in what we manufacture in-house and when we schedule it" says Gary Livingstone, LG Motion's Managing Director, "we have been particularly impressed with the increased accuracy and more consistent quality we get from the machine".

LG Motion provides in-house design, manufacture, service and application support for its own range of precision positioning systems as well as UniSlide, BiSlide and XSlide positioning tables.

They are also the main European distributor for a selected number of leading players in motion and automation systems including Agile Systems Inc - motion controls, Velmex Inc - mechanical positioners, SMAC Europe - electronic moving coil actuators and Empire Magnetics Inc - specialist motors.

LG also represent Schneeberger, the Swiss linear bearing manufacturer and provide a 48 hour turnaround cutting service for profiled BALL MONORAIL Linear Guides.
