Latest extraction systems and arc welding equipment has enabled a refrigeration and mechanical contractor to better capture welding fumes, increase productivity and reduce heating costs.

Wagner-Meinert, a Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA-based industrial refrigeration and mechanical contractor, set a goal to capture welding fumes more efficiently, increase productivity and reduce heating costs head on Based on an on-site demonstration and training from Lincoln Electric, a new process, consumable, welding equipment and fume extraction system were implemented

As a total solution, Lincoln's Power MIG 300, Statiflex 200-M, Blue Max MIG wire, and switching to a Pulsed MIG process, helped Wagner-Meinert meet its environmental and productivity goals.

The result was a 143% productivity increase and a 42% heating cost reduction despite more than doubling its facility size and dealing with a 190% rise in the cost of natural gas.
