Manual plasma-arc cutters are faster

A Lincoln Electric Company, The product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Aug 22, 2007

For cutting any conductive material up to 9.5mm thick, manual plasma-arc cutters are faster and cleaner compared to that of the oxy-fuel cutting processes.

Whether cutting with the smaller Pro-Cut 25 model or gouging with the Pro-Cut 80 unit, Lincoln Electric said that its manual plasma-arc cutters are faster and cleaner compared with oxy-fuel gas cutting.

The company said that what sets these plasma-arc cutters apart from the competition is its patented Vortech technology torch.

The torch concentrates the arc to deliver efficient performance and long life.

There are also Lincoln's Parts-in-Place torch safety features, which prevent the torch from operating when sensing parts are not in proper position.

* Pro-Cut 25 - the Pro-Cut 25 is a handy cutting tool to have around.

Ideal for sheet metal fabrication, auto body shop, hobby, farm or heating and ventilating (HVAC) systems installation, this professional-grade plasma-arc cutting system lhas many features that make manual metal cutting jobs safe, fast and easy.

The Pro-Cut 25 weighs only 29.5 lb (13.4kg) and delivers 25A for cutting electrically conductive materials up to 3/8in (9.5mm) thick.

* Pro-Cut 55 - the Pro-Cut 55 is the top choice, said Lincoln, for industrial plasma cutting for HVAC, sheet metal and light plate fabrication metalworking.

Rated at 60A it can cut conductive materials up to 3/4in (19mm) thick.

Its dual winding technology delivers easy starts, lower dross levels and quick arc transfer rates for fast re-strikes, even on expanded metal.

This model weighs 55 lb (25kg).

* Pro-Cut 80 - he Pro-Cut 80 exhibits maximum cutting ability rated at 85A and will slice through metal up to 1.1/4in (32mm) thick with ease, said Lincoln.

Using six patented technologies, the unit is perfect for maintenance, fabrication or other applications, which require cutting of thicker metals.

Weighing 95 lb (43 kg), the Pro-Cut 80 also includes an optional 'valet style' undercarriage providing uncluttered cable storage and easy transport on the job site.

* About Lincoln Electric - The Lincoln Electric Company, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic, arc welding systems, fume extraction equipment, plasma-arc and oxy-fuel gas cutting equipment and has a leading global position in the brazing and soldering alloys market.
