Lincoln Electric's UltraCore gas-shielded flux cored electrodes have been used in many demanding applications owing to their reliability and performance.

Due to the reliability and performance of Lincoln Electric's UltraCore gas-shielded flux cored electrodes, they have been used in many demanding applications These electrodes now have proven to be ideal for seismic applications, meeting The American Welding Society (AWS) D1.8 requirements

(Adopted in 2006, AWS D1.8 is set of guidelines governing welds in structures designed to resist seismic loading.) Lincoln's UltraCore line of gas-shielded flux-cored electrodes - which has long been the preference of welders and fabricators looking for performance and dependability - includes two wires that meet AWS D1.8 standards.

UltraCore 71C and UltraCore 71A85 in .045", .052" and 1/16" diameters are classified with AWS A5.20:2005 "-D" supplemental designator to meet the newly adopted D1.8 guidelines.

Stringent high and low heat input testing and a minimum Charpy Impact Value of 40 ft-lbf@+70deg are part of the tough requirements to be -D certified.

The robustness of these electrodes makes UltraCore electrodes best suited for a wide variety of structural fabrication needs whether a job calls for AWS D1.8 or FEMA 353.

Additionally, Protech foil bag packaging, which is used for all UltraCore wires, is the recognized standard for AWS D1.8 or FEMA 353.
