UK lifting equipment firm celebrates 30 years
Lifting Solutions is celebrating its 30th anniversary and has grown from a simple chain and rope supplier into having its own access division, machine shop and fabrication capability.
Lifting Solutions of Thurnscoe is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
From its inception in 1976 the company has grown from a simple chain and rope supplier into a full-service engineering operation with its own access division, machine shop and fabrication capability, employing more than 30 staff.
Lifting Solutions (formerly Chain and Rope Services), was set up as a rapid response lifting equipment supplier to the then thriving steel and coal industries of South Yorkshire, UK.
Over the years, the company has built its reputation on a foundation of manufacturing and supplying high quality products, complemented by excellent standards of service.
From its humble beginnings it has developed into a significant local employer with customers worldwide; these have included the Royal Family, Kew Gardens, and three separate Olympic Games projects.
Lifting Solutions now operates through three Divisions, enabling it to streamline activities, whilst being able to provide the very best in lifting equipment design and manufacture.
In recent months, the firm has moved to new premises, signed a major partnership deal with French manufacturer Verlinde, and has also opened a new machine shop in response to demand from customers for a machining capability.
The new machine shop enables Lifting Solutions to manage quality better and offer a more complete all round service to internal departments and external clients.
Lifting Solutions can now design, manufacture and machine its own pins, bushes, pulleys, gear blanks and pinion shafts - making the business even more competitive and ensuring that work can be taken on that used to be outsourced elsewhere.
Jonathan Moorhouse, managing director for Lifting Solutions, said: "We are justifiably proud that we have hit the 30 years old figure, and have consistently looked to grow and develop the business in new ways to ensure our long-term prosperity.
We would like to thank all our staff, customers and suppliers for helping us reach 30, and I hope we are still here in another 30 years - continuing to provide innovative lifting solutions and excellent customer service.".
