Logtek, the division of the GBP1billion Linpac Group, has re-opened its Spalding equipment control depot in the UK less than six months after a major fire.

Logtek, the division of the GBP1billion Linpac Group, has re-opened its Spalding equipment control depot in the UK less than six months after a major fire.

The temporary new building at Pode Hole in Spalding has been completed following the disaster last summer.

Logtec said that the new facility is particularly good news for such customers as Marks and Spencer and Somerfield, which rely on Logtek to help ensure their products reach their stores in good condition.

For example, Marks and Spencer uses Logtek's Qboxes to transport its horticulture products.

Logtec's Spalding sales manager, Robert Gillett, said: "During the last five months our priority has been to get Spalding up and running as quickly as possible to limit the impact on our customers.

We're obviously pleased that it's now very much business as usual." Logtek operates across a number of sectors, including food, drinks, high street retail and automotive, providing plastic trays and bulk containers for grocery multiples.

As well as renting, washing and maintaining returnable transit packaging (RTP), it also operates in asset tracking, all of which are services available from the Spalding depot.
